The Dallas Stars have turned their NHL Western Conference Finals series around and now lead the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 thanks to a 5-3 road victory in Game 3.
Jason Robertson led the Stars with a hat trick in Game 3, and he is now the leading goalscorer in the series.
The Dallas Stars have shined brightly on the road so far in the 2023/24 NHL Playoffs and have value at +115 odds to improve their 6-1 away record further with another win on Canadian ice on Wednesday night.
The Stars were 2-1 on the road in their first-round series against the Vegas Golden Knights, 3-0 away from home in their series against the Colorado Avalanche and have now won their first game in Rogers Place against the Oilers.
The team from Texas now leads the betting to lift the Stanley Cup at +150 and can take another huge step toward achieving that goal.
While Dallas has been unable to shake its bad habit of losing the first game of every playoff series this season, Pete DeBoer's men have done a fantastic job of bouncing back and they have won Games 3 and 4 on the road in each of their series so far.
The Stars had the best road record in the regular season at 26-10-5 and that included a 4-3 win in Edmonton in November when centre Roope Hintz scored two goals.
The Oilers were off to a sticky 2-6-1 start at that point and got their game together later in the season, but they can be faded as home favorites on Wednesday.
The first two games of this series produced only five and four goals respectively, but the expected goals figure for Game 2 was over six with plenty of clear scoring chances created and only some inspired goaltending kept the total below the number.
The first two meetings between these teams in the regular season each generated seven goals and while their April encounter in Dallas went Under, that was because Dallas won 5-0. It's hard to see another shutout for either team in a game with this much elite talent on the ice.
Four of the Oilers' five games against the Kings in the first round went Over the total as they scored 4.5 goals per game. Plus, Edmonton scored at least three goals in six of their seven games against the Vancouver Canucks in their last series.
Another 4-3 or 5-3 kind of game could be in the offing at Rogers Place on Wednesday.
The Oilers will always have hope while they have world-class duo Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl on the ice and they should make goal contributions regardless of the outcome in Game 4.
German center Draisaitl has yet to contribute an assist in this series which makes him hugely overdue to supply a helper. Draisaitl has 16 assists to his name already in the playoffs this season as well as nine goals.
Plus, he posted at least one assist in 10 of his first 11 appearances in this postseason campaign.
At -150 odds he looks great value to set up a team-mate for a goal having had four multi-assist games in the playoffs already, including three in Game 2 against the Canucks in the last round.
Stars netminder Jake Oettinger has been having an awesome run and has saved 35, 28 and 28 shots in the three games of this series for a .928 save percentage, but even he can't be expected to continually keep McDavid and Draisaitl at bay.
