The latest betting picks, predictions, odds and player props for New Jersey Devils vs. New York Rangers in the NHL, courtesy of our friends at Daily Faceoff.
The Rangers (50-21-4) have already clinched a playoff berth and enter Wednesday night the frontrunners to win the Presidents' Trophy on 104 points, while the Devils (36-35-4) sit five spots and six points back of the second Eastern Conference Wild Card.
The Devils and Rangers playing this late in the season should have been a battle for the top of the Metropolitan Division. Unfortunately for the Devils, they are on the outside looking in when it comes to a 2024 playoff spot.
On the other hand, you have the Rangers who are competing for the Presidents' Trophy as the top team in the NHL regular season.
New York is on fire right now. They've won five of their last six and scored 28 goals over those six games. On top of that, they're getting outstanding goaltending from Igor Shesterkin. Since February 1, Shesterkin has a .931 save percentage and a 2.31 goals against average. That's top three in the NHL among goalies to start at least 10 games during that span.
The Rangers are also one of the best teams on home ice. They have a 26-10 record at Madison Square Garden.
Between the goaltending mismatch and the Rangers dominance at MSG, I think the Rangers are going to run away with this one and win by multiple goals.
Puck Line: New York Rangers -1.5 (+130)
