Brisbane captain Dayne Zorko has allayed fears over his fitness but the Lions have been hit by the news Keidean Coleman has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks.
The Lions are priced at 11/4 to reach the 2022 AFL grand final and just a week out from the new season beginning they have received mixed news on the injury front.
The bad news is Coleman's hamstring injury is worse than first feared and the club say he will be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks while he recovers.
Coleman suffered the injury last Friday night but the Lions initially thought he would just miss a couple of games. Scans have shown more damage and it will be two months at best before he can return.

There is better news concerning Zorko who should be okay to face Port despite not playing any pre-season matches after undergoing a minor operation on his ankle.
Even so the skipper does not sound concerned and thinks he will be fit.
"It was a minor procedure around the Achilles," Zorko told reporters. "The beauty about it is they were taking stuff out, not putting stuff in. It's a pretty easy job, pretty minor."
The 33-year-old has been training well and as long as he comes through next week's sessions without any issues, he should be good to go.
"It's more about making myself comfortable and feeling like I can play at that level and if I can't, so be it," he added. "I'm pretty optimistic I'll be right. We've still got 11 or 12 days before I play. I should be able to rack up a few kms before then."
