In order to overcome recent adversities, forward Jonathan Marchessault says that the Vegas Golden Knights must stop falling asleep in games.
The Golden Knights, 10/1 to win the Stanley Cup, conceded two goals 26 seconds apart to lose 3-2 against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
The result came after a 3-1 loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Friday, meaning they have gone 1-4-1 in their past six games.
Marchessault has been with Vegas since they entered the NHL in 2017/18. In 47 games this season, the centreman has contributed 36 points (21 goals, 15 assists).
He gave Vegas a 2-1 lead against the Avalanche, but as when they were 1-0 up, the Avalanche pegged them back and then overtook their opponents with the quick double.

By claiming victory, the Lightning moved to within one point of the Florida Panthers at the top of the Atlantic Division (34-11-6).
Vegas sit third in the Pacific Division with a 29-2-4 record. They have qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in each season since they became an NHL franchise, reaching the Final in their inaugural season.
Marchessault said to the media following the defeat to Colorado: "This is kind of how it's going for us, we fall asleep for a couple of minutes and we lose the game there.
"They score one goal and the next shift is important, and it's kind of a breakout play and they cash in again. This is the adversity we're facing, and we better get out of it."
