The final days of the 2022 League of Legends World Championship are upon us and there is big prize money up for grabs even if a team doesn't reach the Grand Final.
The playoffs of LOL Worlds 2022 have been fun and entertaining and the four teams remaining all have earned their place to be in the semifinals. Asia is very well represented and with both matches this weekend. It is very clear that the rest of the world still has some catching up to do when it comes to League of Legends.
The fight to prove themselves will be on with two very experienced teams facing off to start the semi-final round. Both teams are here to prove themselves and the winner of this first semi-final could have the inside track towards the World Championship. Here is a look at the JD Gaming vs. T1 match-up on Saturday.

It's big boy time at the LOL Worlds 2022 as the semi-final matches are next on the schedule and JD Gaming will try to knock out T1 as the teams meet. Both will look to settle the score as JD Gaming finds itself in a position it hasn't found itself in before. JD Gaming failed to reach Worlds in 2021, and their finish at Worlds 2020 ended early as they finished in the 5-8 placement.
This is also only the team's second World Championship appearance. As for T1 they return to an all-familiar place. T1 is no stranger to this level of play as they reached the semifinals at this event in 2021. In doing so they lost to the runner-up team DWG KIA. Neither team will have to worry about DWG KIA as they were knocked out in the quarterfinals.
JD Gaming had an outstanding performance in their quarterfinal match as they easily eliminated Europe's Rogue team in three maps. It was a very similar result for T1 in their quarterfinal match as they 3-0 swept Royal Never Give Up. JD Gaming's path to this accomplishment wasn't that easy as they had to top DWG KIA, Evil Geniuses and G2 Esports in Group B. They ended in a tie with DWG at 5-1 and were forced to play a tiebreaker match. That match went JD's way as they won the match easily.
T1 had a far easier path as they were placed into Group A and played against EDward Gaming, Fnatic and Cloud9. They went 5-1 in that stage but were able to book the top seed out of the group. The real question in this head-to-head match-up is which team can establish themselves first from the start. Whichever team can do that has the best opportunity of winning and advancing to the World Championship Final.
T1 has had a very consistent line-up this season with each of their five players staying the same throughout and all five playing in 132 total games. They also hold a 99-33 record in that span. Add in their kill average leader in Gumayusi who is averaging well over four kills.
T1 has won five-straight matches since their last loss. That loss for T1 was against Fnatic back in Group Play. JD Gaming has seen a very similar path with their one loss of this event thus far coming against DWG KIA. As said before it is lucky that DWG KIA is no longer in the field. For not making this event in 2021, JD Gaming has had a very strong 2022 season, with 10 wins in their last 11 matches overall.
Another big factor in this match is the fact that T1 and JD Gaming haven't met in a head-to-head setting. The pride of Asia is on the line for any one of the four remaining teams at Lol Worlds 2022. To pick a winner in this match is going to be tough because both teams are in a situation, they haven't been in to this point.
A lot is on the line, but no matter the outcome both teams have proven they belong on this stage. That is why taking the team with recent Worlds experience is the best choice of action. So therefore taking T1 at -125 is the right move here.
