Darryl Lachman has committed his future to Perth Glory and is ready to be part of the rebuild following a horror 2021/22 A-League campaign.
A season that started with much hope following the arrival of Daniel Sturridge looks set to end with the first wooden spoon in the club’s history.
Lachman a rock
Glory have had a nightmare season after being forced to spend large chunks of it away from Perth as the WA borders were closed to the rest of the world.
Players have been missing through sickness and injury but somehow Lachman has managed to play in all 23 games so far and has been a rock at the back.

Zadkovich offers Sturridge hope
Victory on a high after Bulls wins
The former Sheffield Wednesday man has now signed up for next season, much to the delight of interim coach Ruben Zadkovich, who also looks set to stay on.
“He’s a fantastic player,” Zadkovich told reporters. “He’s been holding his head up when others are dropping their’s in games. For me that’s the real measure of the man. He epitomises what a professional footballer is.”
Relishing the role
Lachman will again be leading from the back when an injury-ravaged Glory side take on Adelaide United on Sunday.
“I understand what level they are because when I was young I was at that point,” he said of the younger players. “I’ll be there for them when they need me.
“I talk to them before the game, tell them if they make a mistake don’t worry about it, just focus on the next part.”
