Dragons skipper Ben Hunt says a strong defence will be key to them having a successful season and it is something they have been working hard on in pre-season.
The Red V are priced at 2/1 to finish in the top eight and play finals in the 2022 NRL campaign and they have identified defence as a key area that will help take them there.
Hunt says playing at fullback is one of the hardest positions to play in the modern game and Tyrell Sloan is set to fill the No.1 jersey in round one.
Cody Ramsey and Moses Mbye could also find themselves playing there and halfback Hunt has been delighted to see them working hard in pre-season.

"Good defence gets you into grand finals and that’s something we really need to work on this year," Hunt told reporters ahead of the new season.
"Those three guys have worked on getting in the right positions defensively, getting on kicks when they are put in and getting our numbers right.
"One or our big focuses has been defence and our attitude to that and the kid (Sloan) has been working really hard on it."
The Dragons had a shocking end to the 2021 season with off-the-field controversy contributing to them finishing the campaign with eight straight defeats.
But Hunt is looking forward to 2022 and believes there is a lot be excited about.
"We’ve definitely got a bit of strike in the side, bringing Moses Suli on to that left edge and Jaydn Su’A onto the right," Hunt added. "We’re leaving last year behind and it’s really exciting to see what sort of footy we can play."
