The recent misery of Evil Geniuses continued as they were eliminated from the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown at the first hurdle.
Meanwhile, GODSENT are the first team through to the semi-finals of BLAST Premier Spring Showdown North America after they defeated EG in a comfortable 2-0 fashion.
The defeat continued a downward trend for this new Evil Geniuses roster, who have failed to make the latter stages of any tournament they have attended since forming.
The teams met at IEM Dallas last week, with GODSENT coming out on top in similarly dominant fashion, taking Overpass and Vertigo and allowing their opponents just 18 rounds.
Round two kicked off on Evil Geniuses’ pick of Overpass and, after posting a competitive nine defensive rounds, GODSENT ran away with the map when the sides flipped, going 7-2 on attack to take the opener 16-8.

That ultimately set the tone for the series and GODSENT always looked in control on their pick of Mirage, leading 8-7 at the half after a strong attacking sequence saw them post eight rounds on the bounce.
It was nearly a shutout in the second half, with a standout Henrique "HEN1" Teles performance helping GODSENT to a 16-11 victory. They will face either ATK or FURIA in the semi-final, while it will be another tough debrief for Evil Geniuses.
Another low-key performance by Jake "Stewie2K" Yip has to raise question marks, taking his rating in the past three months to just 0.93, while recent tournament results suggest GODSENT are returning to something like their best form.
On the other side of the bracket, Complexity take on MIBR, while Liquid and paiN lock horns, with the winner of those respective matches clashing in the semi-final.
