Perth Glory have made their first signing of the off-season with the capture of Stefan Colakovski from Melbourne City on a two-year contract.
Glory have just announced a host of departures and the rebuild is now underway following the announcement that 22-year-old forward Colakovski is on board.
Glory had a nightmare 2021/22 A-League season for one reason or another and ended up finishing bottom of the ladder.
However that has not deterred Colakovski who has jumped at the chance to head to the west.
“I’m delighted to sign for Perth Glory,” he said. “The moment I knew there was interest, I knew it was the right move for me.
Glory have a rich history and are one of the most well-respected clubs in Australia. I can’t wait to put on the purple kit on and play in front of all the Members and fans.”
Team spirit the key says Hrustic
Meanwhile new head of recruitment Andy Keogh has also saluted the move and believes Colakovski will be a big hit for the club.
He made a total of 46 appearances for Melbourne City and will add some quality to the Glory ranks for the next two seasons at least.
“We welcome Stefan to what is the start of a rebuild here at PGFC,” Keogh told the club’s website.
“He’s a fantastic young talent who fits a key strategy of the club in developing young Australian players for the future.
“Stefan will bring a winning mentality to our club having previously been part of a fantastic club in Melbourne City.”
