Western United star Ben Garuccio scored a stunning scorpion-kick goal to help his side to a 3-2 win over Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday.
Western are in the hunt to win the A-League minor premiership this season but Garuccio could also be in line for goal of the season following his stunning strike in the 68th minute.
Stunning goal
Leading 2-1 at the time Garuccio produced the instinctive kick after team-mate Aleksandar Prijovic chipped in a cross from the left, and he could not quite believe it when the ball hit the back of the net.
Garuccio grabbed his first goal of the game on the stroke of half-time but it will be the stunning scorpion kick that long lives in the memory.

"I did mean it. But could I do it again in one thousand goes? Probably not," Garuccio told Paramount+. "I did it at training a few weeks ago and I face-planted so I suppose it's just one of those, it's probably one in one thousand.
"I saw (Prijovic) get the ball and I saw both the defenders go out and I thought 'I'll try make the run' and to be fair, unbelievable ball.
"I threw my leg at it, I tried to watch it the best I could and I looked up and I was in the net. I couldn't concentrate for the rest of the game, I was daydreaming, honestly."
Prijovic shines
All the talk after the game centred on Garuccio's goal but coach John Aloisi had special mention for Prijovic who scored the opening goal in the 27th minute and also provided two assists.
"That was (Aleksandar) Prijovic's best game," Aloisi said after the game. "He held up the ball well, we supported him, we know where he's threatening and what he can do and he scored a goal, set up two and probably could've had another one or two."
