G2 have announced the signing of ex-NAVI Junior prodigy Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov.
The 16-year-old AWP'er had been subject of massive attention in 2021, with comparisons drawn to Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, and it's no surprise to see him join a tier 1 organization.
In a post on their website, G2 said: "By acquiring "m0NESY" we're looking to rise to the next level and bring home more titles for the #G2ARMY."
The news means that G2 have six players in their roster, with François "AmaNEk" Delaunay expected to step aside for m0NESY and end his three-year tenure with the team.

G2 have been missing a star AWP'er since Kenny "kennyS" Schrub and m0NESY brings world-class potential, having posted huge ratings in his time with NAVI Junior.
G2 will hope that this is the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle. Despite the world class additions of Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač, Nemanja "nexa" Isaković and Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, the European roster has failed to secure a title since late 2019.
They narrowly missed out on major glory at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, losing to Natus Vincere in the final, before ending the year with below-par runs at IEM Winter and BLAST Premier World Final.
The coach position remains vacant at G2, but it's widely reported that former Vitality coach Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam will slot into that role for the 2022 season.
