The Stanley Cup will be in the building on Saturday night as the Florida Panthers look to complete the sweep of the Edmonton Oilers.
Let's make some picks and predictions for Saturday night's potential Cup-deciding Game 4.
The Edmonton Oilers are in tough to win game four, let alone the rest of the series.
The Oilers have shown flashes of brilliance particularly in games one and three. But they have not found a way to beat Sergei Bobrovsky who is playing some of the best hockey we have ever seen from a goaltender in the Stanley Cup Final. Bobrovsky has a 0.953 save percentage and a 1.33 goals against average.
Some of the saves he is making have been incredible. It's getting a pad on a shot with three screens in front of him. It's robbing a guy like Ryan McLeod point blank in front of the Florida net. Edmonton shooters must be having nightmares of Bobrovsky.
It's also looking like Edmonton is running out of gas. The injuries are adding up. You can tell that Florida is winning the war of attrition. There isn't a way to quantify something like energy, but it just looks like the Oilers are tired. Just like the Panthers were against the Golden Knights last year in the cup final.
The Panthers are getting scoring throughout their lineup which has been a major advantage for them. Florida has had nine different goal scorers in the Stanley Cup Final. Edmonton has had four. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evan Bouchard have combined for zero goals through three games.
To sum things up, the Panthers look unstoppable.
Because of that, I think the Florida Panthers are going to win the Stanley Cup on Saturday night at Rogers Arena.
As for some player props, look for Matthew Tkachuk to have a big night. Tkachuk is the kind of player who steps his game up in high pressure situations, but he has yet to score in the Stanley Cup Final. Take Tkachuk as an anytime goal scorer.
Connor McDavid is doing everything in his power to will his team to victory in the Stanley Cup Final. He leads the Oilers in shots with 14 and is the only Oiler who has more than one point in the series. Look for McDavid to go over 4.5 shots and score at least one goal.
