With 2023 in full swing many of the major Esports platforms get their new seasons underway, with League of Legends regional leagues beginning play, including the LCK and LPL.

The Dota 2 Pro Circuit keeps on rolling along with another big weekend of Call of Duty League Major 2 qualifying matches and don’t forget CS:GO BLAST Premier is also on this week’s schedule.

Monday 16th January

It’s the opening week of action in China’s LPL league. Monday the action heats up with a match between Team WE and Edward Gaming, while the other match to kick-off the week is a clash between Top Esports and Anyone’s Legend.

The LPL features 17 teams, with plenty of sides set to have a very important say in the LOL World Championship later this season.

Team We was able to get a win in week one and they have a chance to get a second-straight win. As for EDward Gaming they will be playing their first match of 2023.

Top Esports will also be in their first match of 2023. They did participate in the Demacia Cup in the offseason and they were able to finish in fourth place in that event - they look ready to make some noise in the LPL in 2023.

Their first match is against Anyone’s Legend who have already played a match this season, they fell short 2-1 against Invictus Gaming. Like their opponent Top Esports, Anyone’s Legend took part in the Demacia Cup 2022 and finished in sixth place overall.

There are plenty of other powerhouse teams involved in the LPL, and many will be on pace to make it to the World Championship this season.

Tuesday 17th January

Another batch of LPL Spring matches headlines Tuesday.

TT Gaming are up first and look to have a slight edge at as they take on LNG Esports. The day also features a match between Royal Never Give Up (-1.5) at -225 to cover against Invictus Gaming (+1.5) at +162.

The LPL features plenty of high-level competition, with nearly every match featuring a team that reached the World Championships in 2022.

Wednesday 18th January

Korea’s LCK features 10 teams including DRX, Gen.G and T1. Wednesday marks the first matches of LCK Spring, as some of the less successful teams in the region will try to make a little noise at the top of the standings.

Dpius KIA (-275) opens the schedule with a match against the defending World Champion DRX (+200).

Dplus KIA will try to replicate their 2022 results and possibly even better that standing and they could make some big noise against DRX

The World runner-up is also in action as T1 (-334) faces off with Gen.G (+240).

Thursday 19th January

Counter-Strike Global Offensive is ready for another strong season and the campaign begins with the first major event, the BLAST Premier Spring Group.

This event features 12 teams, as Group A comprises Heroic, Evil Geniuses, Team Vitality and Astralis and Group B has FaZe Clan, Complexity Gaming, Team Liquid and OG.

The final Group is C which has G2 Esports, BIG, Natus Vincere and Ninjas in Pyjamas, meaning all 12 teams are of major notoriety.

The first day of action features Heroic (-1.5) at -200 against Evil Geniuses (+1.5) +150, before Team Vitality takes on Astralis.

Friday 20th January

The Major II qualifiers continue in the Call of Duty League and three matches take place on Friday.

The first pits the New York Subliners against the Florida Mutineers. That is followed by a clash between the Seattle Surge and Optic Texas.

The defending CDL Champion Los Angeles Thieves close out the day with a match against the Toronto Ultra.

The Thieves haven’t gotten off to a very good start in these qualifiers and will be looking for a major bounce back this week.

As for the other five teams, they all find themselves near the top of the current Major II qualifying standings.

Saturday 21st January

BLAST Premier action is happening throughout the weekend, but Saturday will be a big day for the teams involved in the one match on the schedule.

Natus Vincere are -188 to win in the match against Ninjas in Pyjamas who are +137. Na’Vi have been the top contender throughout the last three seasons - they should be a contender in 2023 once again.

Sunday 22nd January

The final day of action in Week 2 of the qualifiers for CDL’s Major two has three matches.

The Las Vegas Legion will try to best the London Royal Ravens, then the Los Angeles Guerrillas take on the Minnesota Rokkr. The action is closed out with a big clash between the New York Subliners and Atlanta FaZe.
