Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings Game 4: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The Los Angeles Kings were able to steal Game 2 on the road in overtime, but the Edmonton Oilers answered in a big way with a 6-1 victory in Game 3. The series remains in LA for Game 4 and the final game of the weekend, so let’s get into some Oilers vs. Kings best bets.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings betting picks and predictions

Over 6.5 goals (+100)

Not only are the Oilers and Kings familiar with one another thanks to being Pacific Division rivals, but they’ve also met in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs for three straight seasons now. Edmonton has won each of the past two series, and we expect them to make it three in a row.

However, there is far more value in attacking the total, or over/under, market rather than paying the premium on Connor McDavid and company. Of course, McDavid himself lends to high-scoring games, as he and Leon Draisaitl are the most dynamic offensive duo in the NHL.

McDavid, Draisaitl and fellow Oiler Zach Hyman have recorded the most postseason goals over the past three seasons. Many of those have come against the Kings, and we’ve seen games featuring 11, nine and seven goals in the first three games of this series.

We can even go back to last year’s series, which went six games. In those six matchups, the Oilers and Kings combined for seven or more goals in four of them, including each of the last three.

That trend cannot be ignored, so another high-scoring game is our favorite way to approach tonight’s Game 4.

Anze Kopitar over 0.5 assists (+120)

As for the player prop markets, you can almost never go wrong with McDavid to record multiple points or Hyman to record at least four shots on goal, but let's instead focus on a Kings skater. After all, we’re expecting goals to be scored by both teams.

LA isn’t nearly as flashy as Edmonton, but LA veteran Anze Kopitar has been a model of consistency for the franchise.

Since getting a great partner-in-crime in Kevin Fiala, the Slovenian has had even more opportunities to record points.

You can get Kopitar's overall points prop at a -150 price, which is more than reasonable for a home game.

Even so, we’re willing to take the risk of it being by way of an assist, especially with the Kings finishing the season with five skaters with 20+ goals.

Not only that, but Kopitar has proved that he is not intimidated by McDavid and Draisaitl. Although he didn’t record a point in Game 3, he has three points in this series, and had seven points in last year’s six-game battle.

Therefore, another assist could well be in the cards for Kopitar tonight.
