Florida Panthers vs. Edmonton Oilers Game 3: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The Stanley Cup Finals have been great so far — well, for one team, at least.

The Florida Panthers have a stranglehold on the series, winning both games at home. But now, they go on the road and deal with the ruckus Edmonton Oilers barn.

The Oilers dominated Game 1, outshooting the Panthers 32-17, but failed to put a single goal past Sergei Bobrovsky and lost the battle 3-1. The script was flipped in Game 2, where the Oilers took an early lead, but the Panthers were the dominant team. Florida outshot Edmonton 29-19 and, with three third-period goals, won the game 4-1.

How will tonight's Game 3 unfold? Will the Oilers rally and bring themselves back into this series, or will the Panthers push themselves one step closer to Lord Stanley?

Let's find out.

Florida Panthers vs. Edmonton Oilers Game 3 picks and prediction

Oilers Moneyline (-135)

By all measures, this is a do-or-die game for the Edmonton Oilers. History is against Edmonton.  Teams that go down 3-0 in a playoff series have only come back to win four times in NHL history — and only one of those instances was in the Stanley Cup Final, way back in 1942.

After Game 2's loss, Connor McDavid said, "I'm excited to see ourselves fight through adversity and looking forward to people doubting us again."

Those are words from an angry leader who's ready to will his team back in this series. Sure, Game 2 was a poor performance from the Oilers, but if they play the way they did in Game 1, you typically don't lose those games.

Aleksander Barkov left Game 2 after taking a high hit from Leon Draisaitl. Barkov would struggle to get off the ice and would miss the remainder of the game. He's done such a great job of shutting down McDavid so far, but now, with him clearly ailed, it could lead to more open space for the shifty Oiler. Edmonton is back on home ice, where they have the last change and can line match McDavid away from the Frank J. Selke winner, Barkov.

Evan Bouchard Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-150)

Evan Bouchard has only cleared in one of his last six games, averaging 2.2 shots per game, but his volume is not to be ignored.

Bouchard has six shots in this series but has had 25 shot attempts. So he has been firing the puck lately, and now he's back on home ice, where he's averaging 2.9 shots on goal this postseason.

Against the Panthers, Bouchard has cleared this line in four of his last six games, averaging 4.0 shots on 9.5 shot attempts per game.

Connor McDavid Over 0.5 Power Play Points (-120)

This is just a hunch on my end. The Oilers' powerplay has dried up in the Finals, failing to convert on any of their seven opportunities.

But now they're back at home, where they're converting at a 38.5% clip this postseason. I think is when they get at least one past Bob. And after the quotes from McDavid, he's going to put the team on his back and lead by example on the powerplay.
