NBA - US Sports: Dinwiddie keeps calm after Game 1 blowout

Golden State Warriors thrashed Dallas 112-87 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals but Mavericks guard Spencer Dinwiddie remains confident his team can fight back.

Game 2 takes place on Friday and Dallas can be backed at 43/20 to win in the Money Line, while Golden State are 10/11 to win with a -6.5 handicap in the Point Spread.

Dubs dominated series opener

The series opener was a one-sided affair as the Dubs led by 10 points at the end of the first quarter and went on to record a convincing victory.

Mavs star Luka Doncic is averaging 30.5 points-per-game in the playoffs but was limited to just 20 at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Wednesday, while Dinwiddie was the second highest scorer for the team with 17 points from the bench.

Dallas need to improve in all areas if they are to fight back against Golden State, but Dinwiddie remains relaxed.

The Mavs lost the opener against Utah Jazz in the first round and were 2-0 down to top seeds Phoenix Suns in the conference semi-finals, but managed to respond and Dinwiddie insists the players still believe they can topple the Warriors after winning three of the four games between the two teams in the regular season.

"I think it's tough to come in on the road and beat the Warriors any time, especially in the Western Conference finals after they've had a little bit of rest, plus we missed shots. It is what it is," he said, via NBC Sports.

"Like we lost Game 1, but our group does a great job of staying together."

Dinwiddie ready to go again

He added: "We're ready to go toe to toe with these guys. We know what we can do. We beat them in the regular season.

"We've just got to make the adjustments and move on.  We lost Game 1 against Utah and were down 0-2 against Phoenix."

Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals took place on Thursday and Boston Celtics secured a 127-102 win at Miami Heat to level the series at 1-1.

The next game takes place in Boston on Saturday.
