Esports day-by-day: Team Liquid in VALORANT action

It is not long until the Mid-Season Invitational gets underway in League of Legends, while the Paris Major is on the horizon in Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

In the meantime, though, there are some other key events taking place in both Esports as well as in the world of VALORANT. Here is a look at what is on the cards in the week ahead.

Monday

CS:GO: Elisa Invitational progresses with main stage

The Elisa Invitational Spring may not be the high-profile event on the CS:GO calendar this season but the European B-Tier tournament is still worth monitoring and things go up a gear this week as it moves on to the main stage of the competition.

The contenders stage is done and dusted with eight of the 16 teams having progressed and the field will return to 16 this week with another eight sides joining the fray for the main stage.

At the end of the main stage, the field will be halved once again for the playoffs with teams competing for a $25,000 prize pool.

Tuesday

League of Legends: Time for EMEA Masters Spring semi-finals

The LEC Spring 2023 may have recently concluded but fans of the European regional divisions in League of Legends can turn their attention to the EMEA Masters this week.

The A-Tier event features a number of teams on the fringes of major European competition and on Tuesday it reaches the semi-final stage.

The first semi-final pits +120 shots Unicorns of Love SE against Team Heretics, who are -163 shots to prevail. The second semi-final takes place on Wednesday with SK Gaming Prime +163 to beat Istanbul Wildcats, who are -225 to win.

Wednesday

VALORANT: Team Liquid in action in VCT EMEA

Arguably the biggest event this week is VALORANT'S S-Tier competition, the VCT EMEA League, which is taking place at Messe Berlin Charlottenburg in Germany's capital.

The event is still in the regular season with Fnatic leading the way at the top of the standings with a 4-0 record and Natus Vincere following them closely on 4-1.

On Wednesday, Giants Gaming and Team Liquid, two teams with 3-2 records, lock horns in the only match of the day.

CS:GO: Brazy Party gets underway

With the BLAST Premier Spring Finals and the inaugural Paris Major not too far away, things will soon heat up on the CS:GO scene but this week it is all about the Brazy Party in the Esport.

The European A-Tier event features 16 teams, including recognisable names such as Cloud9, Astralis, BIG and OG and starts with a double-elimination group stage before moving on to single-elimination playoffs.

With a prize pool of $330,000, it is worth keeping an eye on.

Thursday

VALORANT: VCT EMEA continues with Karmine Corp involved

The regular season of VALORANT's VCT EMEA league continues on Thursday with basement side Karmine Corp, who have lost four of their five matches in the competition, +333 outsiders to beat big guns KOI, who can be backed at -500

In the day's earlier game, BBL Esports are -175 to beat Team Heretics, who are +125 to win.

Friday

CS:GO: Brazy Party goes up a gear

The matches come thick and fast in the CS:GO Brazy Party this week and on Friday both Groups A and B will host elimination and winners matches.

At the end of the opening round of matches in the groups earlier in the week, the losers of the opening contests will drop into the elimination match, while the winners will progress to the winners match.

The team which prevails in the winners match will then move on to the playoffs, while the loser will move on to the decider match and face the team which lost the earlier elimination match for another spot in the playoff round.

Saturday

CS:GO: Elimination and winners matches take place

The equivalent elimination and winners matches which took place in Groups A and B in the Brazy Party will take place in Groups C and D on Saturday with big guns Cloud9, Astralis and ENCE all hoping to book playoff berths.

Sunday

CS:GO: Brazy Party playoff line-up set to be confirmed

Sunday is a key day for the CS:GO Brazy Party as the decider matches in Groups A,B,C and D will be played out, confirming the final playoff line-up for the event.

The playoffs will begin with the quarter-finals on Monday May 1st.
