Derek Chisora vs Kubrat Pulev II - Boxing: All you need to know

Six years on from their first fight, Derek Chisora and Kubrat Pulev are set to face off again, at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday night.

Pulev got the better of War in their 2016 contest, but it was a closely-fought bout and Saturday night's rematch promises to be a cracker.

The Cobra is a 4/11 shot for another victory over Chisora, while the Finchley fighter is 2/1 to gain revenge.

Pulev won on a split-decision six years ago and the Bulgarian is 6/5 for repeat points victory, while he is 9/4 to stop Chisora, while fans of the Englishman can take 9/2 for a knockout triumph.

James DeGale's grudge match against George Groves was fought on the banks of the Thames and Gennady Golovkin battled with Kell Brook in the same arena.

Who is the favourite for Derek Chisora v Kubrat Pulev?

Are there any belts on the line for Derek Chisora v Kubrat Pulev?

No. The chances of a world title look to have faded for both of these fighters. Pulev has twice challenged for a top-level belt, but the Corba was denied by Wladimir Klitschko and Joshua.

Chisora had a crack at Vitali Klitschko’s WBC heavyweight title way back in 2012, but the Finchley man was outpointed by the Ukrainian.

Perhaps, Pulev may have a small squeak of another shot, but at the age of 41, time is rapidly running out.

What is Derek Chisora's record?

Chisora's card reads like a who's who of heavyweight boxing. War has been in with Vitali Klitschko, David Haye, Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte, Joseph Parker and Oleksandr Usyk.

He has lost 12 of his 44 professional contests, but he has been mixing it in illustrious company and the Finchley fighter has been far more competitive than that record suggests.

The worry for Chisora is that his all-action style may be catching up with him at the age of 38. War has lost three fights on the bounce and, although one of those came against the elite-level Usyk, he was comfortably outpointed by Parker last time out.

There are good wins over the likes of David Price and Carlos Takam mixed in and Chisora can prove a handful for anyone on his day.

What is Kubrat Pulev's record?

Pulev has only lost two of his 31 bouts and both of those reversals came in world title fights. The first was at the hands of Wladimir Klitschko back in 2014 and the second was a recent 2020 defeat to Anthony Joshua.

The Cobra has good wins over Tony Thompson, Alexander Dimitrenko, Alexander Ustinov, Hughie Fury and, of course, Chisora.

The Bulgarian is 41 years of age now, but there aren't a huge amount of miles on the clock, given that Pulev has fought just six times in the last five years.

Who is on the undercard for Derek Chisora v Kubrat Pulev?

Israil Madrimov takes on Michel Soro in an interesting super-welterweight clash and there is also a WBA international super-welterweight title contest between Caoimhin Agyarko v Lukasz Maciec.

Ramla Ali, Fabio Wardley and world-title contender Felix Cash are also on the card.
