Esports: Chinese legend "fy" joins Invictus Gaming

After a six-month absence from the Esport, Dota 2 legend Xu "fy" Linsen has signed for Invictus Gaming.

In the Dota 2 ESL One Stockholm, meanwhile, Evil Geniuses can be backed at 1/8 to beat beastcoast, who are 9/2 to win in the match on Sunday.

fy has undoubted pedigree

An iconic Dota 2 talent, "fy" is renowned for his engrossing gameplay during his days with Vici Gaming and PSG.LGD and has frequently come close to winning The International. He has twice finished as a runner-up in the event, as well as placing fourth in 2015 and third in 2019.

The Chinese talent, who is considered one of the greatest support players in the world, was last part of the team Elephant, who had to disband back in November 2021 and is now looking forward to starting a new chapter in his career.

He had taken a hiatus from the Esport due to health reasons, but Dota 2 fans will be looking forward to seeing the veteran back in action.

As a result of the arrival of "fy", Pan "Fade" Yi is set to be dropped from the lineup to make room. The rest of the new Invictus Gaming lineup is made up of Jin "flyfly" Zhiyi, Zhou "Emo" Yi, Thiay "JT-" Jun Wen and Chan "Oli" Chon Kien.

It will be hoped that the signing of "fy" will help Invictus Gaming turn around their fortunes after a challenging year or so.

Invictus looking to move up

In the aftermath of The International 10, Invictus struggled in their regional division having dropped down to the lower division and missed promotion to the upper division.

Their focus will now be on securing a Division One slot as soon as they can and it is thought their new signing will make an impact.

Following the news, Invictus Gaming wrote on Twitter: "Roster update - we told you something BIG was coming...HE IS BACK! #iGFamily give a warm welcome to F-GOD!"
