After getting the week off in what was the season-opening weekend for the rest of MLS, the Vancouver Whitecaps kick off the 2024 campaign by hosting Charlotte FC.
Vancouver finished sixth in the Western Conference last season and lost in the first round of the playoffs, while Charlotte finished ninth in the Eastern Conference and lost to the New York Red Bulls in the Wild Card round.
Charlotte FC vs. Vancouver Whitecaps is streaming exclusively on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, but the game is free to watch. That means fans do not have to buy the Season Pass streaming package to watch Vancouver's season-opening match.

Ben Bender, Brandt Bronico, Brandon Cambridge, and Tyger Smalls are all likely to miss the match due to injuries. New singing Djibril Diani is likely to miss out due to not yet obtaining his visa, and Patrick Agyemang and Bill Tuiloma are questionable with injuries.
Head coach Vanni Sartini and defender Matias Laborda are suspended for the match due to their actions in Vancouver's season-ending loss against Los Angeles FC in November 2023. Laborda will only miss this game, while Sartini will miss six. Midfielder Ali Ahmed will miss the game as he recovers from hernia surgery.
