Week 13 of the Canadian Football League is set to kick-off this weekend with another four games to look forward to.
This article will preview this week's action and what is at stake in these four games this weekend. The Ottawa Redblacks have a bye in Week 13.
British Columbia Lions (7-4) vs. Montreal Alouettes (6-4), 7:00 PM ET
The British Columbia Lions enter this game with a record of 7-4.
They are having a solid season, sitting in 2nd place in the CFL West division and currently occupy one of the four playoff spots. That being said, the Lions are currently on a two-game losing streak.
The Montreal Alouettes are also having a decent season, posting a 6-4 record thus far.
They are currently the 2nd seed in the CFL East division, and also are in the playoffs as of this moment. The Alouettes are looking for a bounce back performance in this game, as they lost in Week 12 to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers by a score of 47-17.
Since we have passed the halfway point of the regular season, this is a crucial game for both teams. Neither can afford a loss here as they both have teams closing in on them in the standings.
Spread/Money Line:
BC Lions: -4 (-110) / -180
Montreal Alouettes: +4 (-110) / +160
Total:
Over: 47.5 (-105)
Under: 47.5 (-115)
Winnipeg Blue Bombers (9-2) vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders (5-5), 7:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are in cruise control at the moment, coming into this game with a record of 9-2.
They are the top team in the CFL West division and are currently on a five-game winning streak. The most recent of these wins came against the Montreal Alouettes, who they beat 47-17.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders on the other hand, are coming off a bye week in Week 12. This was a much needed bye week as they are currently 5-5 on the season and 3rd in the CFL West division.
This game is probably more important to the Roughriders as they must keep pace with the BC Lions, who are a couple of games in front of them in the race for a playoff spot.
Spread/Money Line:
Winnipeg Blue Bombers -7.5 (-110) / -305
Saskatchewan Roughriders +7.5 (-110) / +245
Total:
Over: 47.5 (-115)
Under: 47.5 (-105)
Toronto Argonauts (8-1) vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-6), 3:30 PM ET
The Toronto Argonauts are another team in the CFL who are in complete control of their season. They are 8-1 and are leading the CFL East division.
The Argonauts have won two games in a row. Meanwhile, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are struggling this season, posting a record of 4-6 so far.
Even with that being the case, the Tiger-Cats are 3rd in the CFL East division and are just 2.0 games behind the Montreal Alouettes for what would be a playoff spot.
The Tiger-Cats need this game much more than the Argonauts as they are battling hard for a playoff spot. A Hamilton loss and a Montreal win would further decrease Hamilton’s playoff chances.
Spread/Money Line:
Toronto Argonauts -8 (-110) / -360
Hamilton Tiger-Cats +8 (-110) / +245
Total:
Over: 50 (-110)
Under: 50 (-110)
Edmonton Elks (2-9) vs. Calgary Stampeders (3-8), 7:00 PM ET
The last game of Week 13 will see two of the worst teams go head-to-head.
The Edmonton Elks come into this game with a record of 2-9.
However, after starting the season 0-9, they have won back-to-back games, and could have some momentum heading into this Week 13 game.
On the other side, the Calgary Stampeders are 3-8 on the season.
They have lost three games in a row. This is still an important game for both sides simply because they do not want to be the team with the worst record.
Spread/Money Line:
Edmonton Elks +5 (-110) / +170
Calgary Stampeders -5 (-110) / -200
Total:
Over: 46.5 (-110)
Under: 46.5 (-110)
