Having finished third in the overall MLS table in 2022, there was plenty of optimism around CF Montreal last term but a change of manager unsettled things en route to a 20th-place finish.
There have been numerous comings and goings ahead of the new campaign, though, with another new manager set to feature in the dugout.

Hernan Losada's one and only season in charge of CF Montreal was underwhelming to say the least.
Losada took the reins at CF Montreal at the start of last season following Wilfried Nancy's departure to eventual 2023 MLS Cup winners Columbus Crew.
That alone was a move which raised plenty of eyebrows given that Nancy has long been considered one of the most promising head coaches in MLS, leading CF Montreal to third spot in the Supporters' Shield race in 2022.
The change was pretty jarring for the club with Losada's high-intensity, vertical approach failing to get the best out of his players.
April brought with it a run of four successive 2-0 wins but other than that, there was not a lot to shout about.
Despite a poor campaign, the club were still on the brink of making the playoffs on Decision Day, only for the New York Red Bulls to dispatch a 94th-minute penalty against Nashville SC to leapfrog CF Montreal into the playoffs.
Montreal's final regular-season game came against Nancy's Columbus Crew, who won the match 2-1 in Ohio.
There are plenty of lessons to be learned from last season and the club have once again shifted gears, drafting in Laurent Courtois as manager for 2024.
New CF Montreal boss Courtois may have a modest CV but he has already enjoyed success in his career and has a knack for nurturing younger talent.
In January 2022, Courtois took charge of the Columbus Crew reserves team and led them to the MLS Next Pro title that same year.
He then oversaw the club claiming the regular season title in the MLS Next Pro division last year and looks ready to make the step up.
One of his primary objectives heading into the 2024 season will be improving CF Montreal's goalscoring threat with Mathieu Choiniere - a right wing-back - finishing as the club's top scorer on just five MLS goals last term.
The addition of former MLS top scorer Josef Martinez, who struck seven goals for Inter Miami in 2023, should go some way to helping the situation but building around CF Montreal's younger crop will also be key.
Retaining Choiniere is important and there is surely more to come from forwards Kwadwo Opoku and Mason Toye but expect another season of finishing on the cusp of the playoffs, for a team that is +50000 to win the MLS Cup.
