The action kicks off on Thursday with opening round matches with the top seeded teams facing off looking to advance in the Upper portion of the bracket.

Atlanta FaZe look to continue their run of reaching Grand Final matches, and the host team New York Subliners look to make their run in the qualifiers count.

Atlanta FaZe have been a very prominent team in Call of Duty League for years now, and this season has been no different. They have reached the Grand Final match in each of the three other Major's this season. Their only issue is that they haven't put it all together to take home the championship trophy.

They will have another test to open Day 1 of this Major as they face-off against the Los Angeles Thieves. Both teams finished 3-2 during the qualifying rounds for this tournament.

FaZe continues to have one of the best line-ups CDL has to offer, and that starts with their leader Simp. He must come to play if the FaZe expect to take home the trophy. They have the tools to reach the Grand Final once again, but the question remains if they can get over the hump and win it all.

Subliners could shock all

New York looks to be the biggest surprise heading into Major 4. They are not only the hosts for this event, but they earned the second seed as they were able to finish with a 4-1 record in the qualifiers.

Now they must continue their momentum with an important first round match against the Minnesota Rokkr. Minnesota's four victories came against some of the best competition the League offers. That includes wins over the Florida Mutineers, LA Guerrillas, OpTic Texas, and the Seattle Surge.

Three of those four wins were against the three Major winners thus far in the season. The Surge are the most recent Major winners, as they won Major 3. Things could very much be looking up for the New York Subliners after a poor start to the season.

New York will have plenty of hometown crowd to back them up this week.

They look to be putting themselves into the conversation once the Championship begins next month. The Subliners at +350 could be a good bet to shock the world and win Major 4.

OpTic needs everything to go right

Optic Texas has had a very disappointing couple of months. Whether it is losing out on a chance to reach the final four teams at Major 2 and 3 or having an awful qualifying round during this run for Major 4.

OpTic has certainly gone in the wrong direction since winning Major 1 earlier this year. Optic went 1-4 during the Major 4 Qualifiers which was their worst record performance this season. Now they find themselves in a deep whole as they wait to see which team they will face in the lower-bracket elimination rounds.

Their one win in qualification came against last place Paris Legion. They didn't look too good against the other three teams they faced in qualification. They lost two of their matches against the Minnesota Rokkr and New York Subliners 3-1.

If OpTic can't get things going, then they will likely bow out early for the third-straight Major. That is not the right territory for a team that has been among the favourites to win the Championship at season's end. Scump might be the team's leader, but he has really lacked any support from the rest of OpTic's line-up.

It has been a bit of a head-scratcher for a team that has been near the top of the overall standings all season. OpTic needs everything to go right or they won't be much of a threat in Major 4. Their odds are quite long as well as they are a pretty big longshot at +2000 to win it all.
