Leonard Fournette, the man nicknamed "Playoff Lenny" for the contribution he made to the Buccaneers' Super Bowl win last year is running it back for another season in Tampa Bay.
The Bucs, who are 15/2 to win back the Vince Lombardi Trophy, are re-signing the veteran running back to a three-year, $21 million deal that can be worth up to $24 million with incentives, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, citing sources.
The 27-year-old, selected fourth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017, is one of only two running backs taken in the top-5 of the last five drafts.
He was cut by the Jags after three seasons and landed with the Bucs a week later on a one-year 'prove it' deal.
The history books began to be rewritten when Fournette became a major playmaker during the 2020 Super Bowl run and continued as the Bucs' featured back last season, generating 812 rushing yards and eight TDs on 180 carries.

It's been a wild nine days to be a Bucs fan, player or front office executive - with a number of key deals done in the wake of Tom Brady's retirement U-turn.
Wide receiver Chris Godwin, who signed a new three-year contract that would take the place of the franchise tag and keep him in Tampa long-term, said so on Monday.
"This last week has been a whirlwind for a lot of people," Godwin said at the press conference to announce his new deal.
"But, I think it just restores faith in the Bucs' fanbase that we're back, man. We're not laying down for anybody, we're coming back to try and make it back to the top of the mountain. You need great players, you need great people to do that."
