NRL: Arthur salutes Eels spine

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur saluted the performance of the Eels spine as they romped to a 48-14 win over the Dragons.

The Eels are priced at 7/1 to win the 2022 NRL grand final and look on course to have a great season if the early part of the campaign is anything to go by.

Moses runs the show

Mitchell Moses was the star of the show. The halfback scored two tries, kicked eight conversions from eight and also chipped in with two try assists.

Five-eighth Dylan Brown also had an impressive game and Arthur was pleased with the way the spine stepped up against the Dragon.

"I thought our spine was very good," Arthur said. "They all play their role and I thought we were a threat on either side of the play-the-ball.

"We're not playing down one side in particular, I think they were more of a threat and I thought the spine did a really good job.
They are calm no matter what the situation, I think they have showed the way for us over the last few rounds."

Dragons blown away

Anthony Griffin was far from happy with the performance of his Dragons side in the second half. They only trailed 12-8 at the break but fell apart after it.

"They blew us away in the second half," Griffin added."We started poorly and they made us pay with every opportunity.

"The scoreline isn't acceptable but we will take a lot of things out of that first 40 minutes. We have got to learn that lesson and move on."
