This year's MLB All-Star game is set for Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles with all the glitz and glamour that Hollywood can bring, the finest baseball stars the World can offer will be on call for the showcase.
After a combination of fan voting, manager voting and players naming their nominations, the American League and the National League combine to announce their rosters for the game.
Of course injuries can prevent some of the top players taking part, while some players can opt out also, protecting their body from the rigours of a 162-game season, plus the postseason if they are lucky.
This year we have seen a number of players drop out due to injury. The American League will be without Houston Astros' Jose Altuve and Los Angeles Angels' Mike Trout due to their respective injuries.
Their starting pitching duo of Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees and Justin Verlander of the Astros, have been omitted because they made starts for their respective teams over the weekend.
The National League has been forced to change Miami's Jazz Chisholm and Philapdelphia's Bryce Harper due to injury.
Some of the reserves have also dropped out, so it will be a much changed starting roster.
However, first baseman Freddie Freeman has been called up for his sixth All-Star appearance after missing the initial vote, he replaces the New York Mets outfielder, Starling Marte, whose non-appearance has yet to be announced.

The American League have won the past eight held years in the All-Star game, (2020 was cancelled) but only just lead the overall wins by three games (46-43).
The last game, at Coors Field, Colorado, the AL won 5-2, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr of the Toronto Blue Jays picking up the Most Valuable Player award with the Angels' Shohei Ohtani the winning pitcher.
How fitting that this year's game will be held at Dodger Stadium as the players treat the week as their Hollywood.
The MLB's showpiece one-off game, called the ‘Midsummer Classic' you see the stars of Major League Baseball ply their trade against each other.
The Dodgers will have six of their roster on show for the National League, fitting for the most consistent team in baseball right now.
The best team in baseball right now are the New York Yankees and they will have five of their stars on show for the American League, including Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton both on the starting roster.
For the American League, Dusty Baker (Houston Astros) will lead the side. This will be the second time that the 73-year-old has led a side in the All-Star game. Baker was team manager in 2003 for the National League, while with the Chicago Cubs.
Brian Snitker will lead the National League for the first time. This is a reward for all the hard work he has put into the Atlanta Braves organisation of the past six seasons.
That hard work meant that the Braves have won the NL East division for the past four seasons, while they are also chasing a fifth consecutive divisional title.
Snitker won the World Series with Atlanta in 2022 and built a side that can compete despite losing some of its best players in Freddie Freeman (to the Dodgers) and pitcher Mike Soroka (long-term injury).

Alas, sometimes these happen, but the standard shouldn't change. These are quality line-ups that will be on show, while some of the players that have been called up, are unlucky not to get selected in the first place, such as Freeman.
Liam Hendriks (Chicago White Sox) and the Toronto Blue Jays reliever Jordan Romano have been called up to replace Cole and Verlander.
Hendriks will be a three-time All-Star on the back of this call-up, while Romano is joining the All-Star team for the first time. Romano will have five of his colleagues to join in the AL Ranks.
Devin Williams of the Milwaukee Brewers, was the National League reliever of the year in 2020, gets his first All-Star call up and will join his team-mates Corbin Burnes and Josh Hader as 2022 NL All-Stars.
