Adelaide United striker Hiroshi Ibusuki has committed his immediate future to the Reds after penning a two-year contract extension.
The Japanese striker was a big hit with Adelaide after arriving in the January of this year and went on to score six goals in 22 appearances.
Two-year deal
Reds boss Carl Veart was keen to get him tied down to a new deal and Ibusuki is now on board until at least the end of the 2023/24 A-League campaign.
The 31-year-old is delighted to be staying in South Australia and believes the club have what it takes to build on last season’s A-League semi-final appearance.

“It is very exciting for my family and I to know our future is in South Australia for the next two seasons,” he told the club’s website. “We love the city and I have really enjoyed being part of this great team since joining earlier this year.
“As a Club, we were very close to making it past the Semi Final, but fell short after a very positive season for everyone. I am confident in our hunger as a team to take what we learned last season and use it to improve for next season, so we can be successful for our great fans.”
Experience is key
Meanwhile head coach Carl Veart is delighted to keep the striker and says he will be key to the way the Reds play going forward.
“His experience and the unique option he provides us by leading the line, is crucial to the style of football I want our boys to play, so to know he will be one of our key figureheads moving forward is excellent,” Veart added.
